Far from the noisy, flashing advertisements of the city, one would not only want clean air and blue sky overhead. One would wish that their home blended harmoniously into the surrounding atmosphere. Scandinavian style of the interior design is famous for its love for white color and use of natural materials. Light and space even in small rooms, a cozy arrangement of minimalist furnishings in the rooms and original decoration – this is the basis of the style concept in Scandinavia. Home ownership, which we will visit, is no exception – every wall of the rooms is decorated in white and light wood is used for facing the ceiling sloping ramps.
On the ground floor, there is a heart of the home – a spacious room combining three major functional areas – kitchen, dining room and living room. With an open layout, it was possible to place all the necessary furnishings and to induce a feeling of spaciousness and freedom. Thanks to the large panoramic windows it is always light in the room on the ground floor. The sun’s rays multiply reflecting from the white walls of the space.
Dark facades of the kitchen furniture contrast with the light background of the decoration. Contrast theme is supported by the decoration of the kitchen apron – all the space from the tops to the makeshift ceiling is lined with snow-white ceramic tiles with dark grout of tile joints.
The dining group located there is zoned rather conditionally with the help of bright carpet, giving this functional segment comfort and home warmth. An original table with table top made from several boards, chairs is surrounded by variegated chairs of different styles and colors. Bright and positive image of the dining room looks great on a white background of the closed window blinds. And you can observe the scenery during a family meal in a less sunny weather.
You can freely get to the living room from the dining room zone, passing through a small home library represented by a bookcase and comfortable chairs standing in front. The living room is decorated with the same worship of light and image of purity, and in the rest of the house – white walls and contrasting furniture with colorful textile decoration.
Technically, this is a one-story home ownership, but it has mansard space under a roof, in which private rooms and utilitarian spaces are located. This wooden staircase painted in white leads there.
Despite the large sloping ceiling, roof spaces are not empty. Here you can live comfortably if places with the greatest height of the ceiling are chosen for the residential areas, and the storage system is arranged in the segments of steepest roof bevel.
Even in these utilitarian premises, homeowners together with the designer, remain true to the concept of the Scandinavian style – snow-white finish is combined with natural materials to give the interior natural warmth. Through the use of white color and mirrors occupying the whole wall – space of the small bathroom seems even bigger than it actually is.
