Everyone in his life inevitably faces the desire to feel himself or herself a kind of an artist, a person, able to create an absolute miracle in daily reality. Actually, it is not so difficult. Having enough imagination and the wish to create, you can do great. Today we have decided to show you how to make a unique mirror frame with your own hands.
In the process of decorating, we will need just a little:
- unnecessary round mirror with flat edges;
- thick cardboard sheet from a furniture package;
- a set of disposable plastic spoons;
- a strong glue like “superglue”;
- glue gun;
- red spray paint;
- two nails with wide heads and a metal staple for making a fixing loop
- graphite pencil;
So, we start creating the frame.
Let`s take the pre-prepared round mirror with the diameter of 18-20 cm.
Expand the cardboard sheet on the table and fix it with the plate-glass mirror.
Draw two circles: the first one—according to the mirror diameter, the second one—about 13-15 centimeters from the first marking.
Cut the circle around the edge to get a cardboard template.
Take ordinary plastic spoons of the medium size.
Using scissors cut off the underside of each spoon.
Put the received decorative material to the surface of the cardboard sheet so that the rounded parts of the spoons extend beyond the inner circle like flower petals, forming a new circle.
Fix the improvised petals using the glue gun.
In a likely manner, put and fix the second petal layer inside the first one, slightly shifting them aside.
The third layer of the decorative material is finishing. It should also be slightly shifted, comparing with the previous petal row.
Take the red spray paint and spread it in a thin layer on the fixed spoon parts and the cardboard base under them.
Cut the needless part of the circle standing proud of the flower petals.
Turn over the product and glue the mirror circle in the center of the composition.
If you plan to decorate a wall in your apartment with this hand-made mirror, allow for a fixing loop. For this purpose, before gluing the petals you have to nail a metal staple to the back of the decorative item.
