The bedroom is considered a fairly “intimate” room, which should not be shown to guests. That is why comfort and individual approach is important in the design and furnishing of this room. You do not need to bother about the impression your bedroom will make on neighbors and friends. After all, when falling asleep and waking up, you only need to feel comfort, coziness, warmth and have positive emotions in the morning.
Firstly, the best possible and the ideal option would be separate rooms for all your family members. But often it happens so, that due to lack of space, some people have to sleep in the same room. The minimum area of a bedroom for one person should be at least eight square meters, while for two people twelve square meters are considered a minimum. When choosing the bedroom you must consider windows location. The best option for their location is south or east, as the windows oriented to the west, will lead to permanent room overheating in summer days. If the windows are facing north and the room has not enough sunlight, you can use a warm color scheme in the interior which can make the bedroom more comfortable, “warm” and cozy. Bedrooms should not be a walk-through room, it should be arranged in a secluded and quiet location in the apartment. It should be located in the distance from the entrance hall and kitchen. If a two-storey cottage is at your disposal, the most reasonable choice is to arrange the bedrooms on the top floor, where it is less noisy.
If the apartment is small
Sometimes small sizes of your apartment make it impossible to allocate a separate room for a bedroom, and it has to be combined with study or living room. In this case, the bedroom should be differentiated into separate zones. This is achieved through the use of multi-level ceilings or different lighting in each zone.
Choosing the perfect bed is quite simple, you just need a little imagination and desire.
